Scope and Purpose

The site covers three stages of a residential rainwater collection system: storage (rain barrels and cisterns), conveyance (gutters and downspouts), and water quality management (first flush diverters and basic filtration). Each topic is addressed as a standalone guide that can be read independently.

All content is written for residential garden irrigation use. The guides do not address potable water treatment, greywater recycling, or commercial-scale water collection.

Geographic Focus

While the general principles of rainwater harvesting apply broadly, the specific details in these guides — rainfall patterns, legal references, product availability, and common building construction — reflect conditions in Poland. References to legislation cite Polish law directly. Product availability references reflect what is typically stocked in Polish hardware retailers.

Information Sources

Content draws on publicly available technical standards (Polish Norms — PN, and European EN standards), guidance from Polish government bodies (Wody Polskie, IMGW-PIB), and general principles from published rainwater harvesting literature. Where specific quantitative claims are made, sources or caveats are noted in the text. The site does not present original research.

Updates

Pages are reviewed and updated periodically. The last update date is shown at the bottom of each page. Regulatory references (in particular, references to Prawo Wodne) should be verified against current legislation, as amendments may occur.

Where external links are provided, they point to government or publicly funded institutions (IMGW-PIB, Wody Polskie, Sanepid) or to established technical organizations. No commercial endorsement is implied.
